Questions worth asking before you sign with any agency
Including a few that make agencies uncomfortable, which is precisely why they are useful.
Who actually does the work
Ask which named people will be on your account day to day, and how much of their week you are buying. Pitch teams and delivery teams are frequently different, and you deserve to know that upfront.
What happens to the accounts if we leave
Ad accounts, analytics, Search Console and your business profile should be in your name from the start. If an agency owns them, leaving means starting over, and that is leverage rather than service.
What will you not do
A useful answer sounds like a real constraint. Anyone who claims every channel suits every client is selling capacity rather than judgement.
How do you report, and how often
Ask to see a real, anonymised monthly report. If it is thirty pages of platform screenshots with no interpretation, expect that every month.
What does failure look like
Ask how they will know the work is not working, and what they would do about it. Agencies that have thought this through will answer immediately. It is the question that reveals the most.
